It’s a ZenFone Built for Photography but brings together a variety of improvements in terms of performance, usability, and design. It’s a Photography-oriented phone and we will have a take on the camera side of ZenFone 3 first.

Built for Photography? Yes!

ASUS ZenFone 3 is equipped with one of the best cameras we have ever seen on smartphones, along with cool features. It comes with 16MP Rear Shooter and 8MP Front Camera. Though both work well, we have our focus on the rear shooter. It’s a PixelMaster 3.0 shooter with the 16MP Sony IMX298 Sensor, with TriTech Auto-Focus. The six-element lens has an aperture of f/2.0 as well. That’s all about the specifications of ZenFone 3 Camera, but there’s more.

As said, TriTech Auto-Focus is there for lightning-fast autofocus, also using the 2nd gen Laser Technology. They have added phase detection and continuous auto-focus to bring in the best output. As it turns out, the TriTech system is the best one to be seen among smartphones, with a focusing time of 0.03s. This technology is useful for common focus, face detection as well as for moving shots.

Another impressive feature in ASUS ZenFone 3 is its combination of 4-Axis Optical Image Stabilizer and the 3-Axis Electronic Image Stabilizer. While the OIS lets you capture clear photographs even while moving, the 3-Axis EIS is meant for recording stable video on the go. And, in case if you didn’t know, ASUS ZenFone 3 offers complete support for 4K Video Recording. Last but not least, the PixelMaster Camera has a Super Resolution mode, which gives you an equivalent resolution of 64 Megapixels. And, that’s what you used to get from DSLR Cameras out there. In short, ZenFone 3 is indeed the best phone you can grab for photography perks. Let that be photos or video — the 16MP shooter does the job.

Design and Display of ZenFone 3

Inspired from the popular Zen Design Philosophy, ASUS ZenFone features an impressive build, while giving an ergonomic experience to users. At the same time, you can enjoy the perks of comfort and looks, thanks to the premium finish. What’s more, it comes with 2.5D Contoured Corning Gorilla Glass on the front and rear sides. So, both the sides of ZenFone 3 will stay scratch-free.

ASUS has packed in a 13.9cm display on the front with a full-HD resolution of 1920*1080. Due to the 77.3% Screen-to-Body ration, you can get the best display experience.

Shortly, ASUS ZenFone 3 is a well-designed, ergonomic design that gives a premium finish and protection alike.

Performance and Connectivity

ZenFone 3 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S625, which is the first 14nm, 64-bit, Octa-Core SoC. The processor has been clocked at a speed of 2.0GHz. With the 8 Cores up and running, your device will always have resources to manage tasks and get things done. Although not a flagship processor, Snapdragon S625 is supposed to give you the best results in terms of power and stability. It needs to be noted that ZenFone 3 comes with a 3GB RAM and Adreno 506 GPU. So, you will not have any issues with multitasking or heavy gaming. This performance combination is supposed to increase power efficiency by 35%, thanks to FinFet LPP Technology.

Coming to the connectivity front, ZenFone 3 is a Dual-SIM device that supports 3G and 4G SIM. It has complete support for 4G LTE, giving you maximum speeds of 300 Mbps. You also get Wi-Fi 802.11ac, which has maximum speeds of 433Mb per second. For wired connectivity and charging, ASUS has packed in USB Type C-Port. It also has Fast Charging, which lets you talk for 2 Hours in a charging time of 5 Minutes. In short, the connectivity part is just awesome. Last but not least, it’s coming with a 360 Degree Fingerprint Sensor, which has an unlocking time of 0.2 Seconds. You have options for up to five finger recognition and multiple app integrations.

OS, UI, and Other Features

ASUS ZenFone 3 runs on Android v6 Marshmallow with the ZenUI 3.0 on top. It’s a heavily customized UI, but at the same time user-friendly for most. It packs a bunch of features such as Game Genie, Photos+, and System-wide Theming Support. We think the customizations have helped to enhance User Experience as well.

Talking of other features, ZenFone 3 has a few notable ones. One of such major features is the Five-Magnet Speakers that the device comes with. From the device, you get High-Resolution Audio with the 4x quality of CD. So, it does not matter which track you’re playing, but ZenFone 3 gets you the best quality.

The Final Word

Indeed, the features of ASUS ZenFone #Z3NCREDIBLE India are something really cool. When compared to these features, the pricing is not so high, either. Two versions of ZenFone 3 are currently available in Flipkart — 5.5inch and the 5.2inch one. The 5.5inch has 4GB of RAM while the 5.2inch version comes with 3GB. But, this doesn’t make a big difference on any side. However, it’s to be noted that the 5.2-inch version has a battery of 2650mAh only. Despite these changes, you can pick one from this duo as per your requirements.
