Before installing update:

1. Take a backup of your data & check for update availability

2. Use latest NOKIA suite,download it from here ,we recommended this because if u have leaked (Symbian Belle) already installed  then using latest Nokia suite you can update to official without flashing 🙂

3. Use broadband internet or 3G connection

Process of updating Symbian Belle using Nokia suite: 

1. Connect your mobile to PC using PC-suite mode.

2. Navigate to Software update icon and click on proceed.

4. Wait for few minutes  to complete the update process,update size is approx 220mb. So its totally depend on your internet connection.

    1. Hi rolf ,can u tell me which version of Nokia PC suite you are using ,i recommended you to use latest version.Also try to check for update from *#0000# 🙂 let me know ur progress

      2. the same problem is wid me....connection to the phone is lost in the third step....the it automatically says connection is now godd retry...and when i retry it again shows the same thing that usb connection is lost.plz help me...

        1. HI, I suggest you to try to update it by connecting your mobile to WiFi. Make sure your internet connection is stable, Dial *#0000# code and then click on check for update.
          You will get update list, just download it and enjoy.

          If this also not work then by taking backup of your mobile reset it using *#7370#. then retry for same. If you want to use USB for same make sure u have latest NOKIA SUITE installed.

        1. HI Raja,

          Please try OTA update by typing *#0000# and in option menu click 'CheckforUpdate'

          This will help you, please connect your phone to good wifi or 3G connection before you proceed and don't forgot to take backup before rolling out updates

  4. Hi, i got my phone from AUS through my brother. its already unlocked & m using it. i cant get the V22 update through OTA or ovi/pc suite. so i hav downloaded the india firmware files through navifirm. can i flash it on my phone through phoenix?

    1. Hi Rizwan,please check whether your handset is compatible to grab BELLE update from here.If it's their then u have to download latest version of Nokia Suite & recheck for update ,It will surely work !!!

    1. hi rajesh I suggest u to re install ur PC suite and then try again.if it won't work kindly check whether device drivers are working or not like USB and also select Suite Mode in ur device as default

  7. i updated my nokia n8 to belle but it asks for security code in every restart and my default code 12345 didnt work. it gives code error message. i have tried many things but i cant reset the code plz help...

    1. ohh...I think u changed ur code & forgot it ? their are only two way to solve this problem 1. follow these steps https://goo.gl/UCrvV 2. reinstall OS on ur phone via PC SUIT or phoniex flashing soft.

    1. ohh,its strange.I think u have to recheck ur Nokia OVI PC suite version.Check for update by connecting ur handset to PC via OVI PC suite mode.let me know if it works or not.Symbian belle update is only available through PC suite

  9. I have done software upgrade of my N8 with symbian os, however after that i am facing problem... very low volume (incoming call voice, music) all got reduced by 50%. so how to resolve this issue..pls help.

    1. Ohh... might be some hardware issue 🙂 Check your profile settings also from 'Personalize' option,it may have some different config settings that u needed

      1. Hi, I suggest you to take backup of all ur contacts,files using nokia suite then reset your mobile with *#7780# (SoftReset).If its not work then use hard reset *#7370#. If system ask to enter lock code default it "12345" let me know if you need any help

  12. Hi Saurabh, some days back i updated both of my phones( N8 & E7) to belle.after update, my N8 works completely, but in my E7, i cant send any files via bluetooth, it only shows send via massege, no bluetooth. can u please help ?

    1. Aamir I suggest you to update your handset to 'Symbian Belle REFRESH' It was already rollout and work perfectly on my N8 and my friends E7 :D. I hope this will help you to get rid of these problem ! check it from OTA *#0000# -> check update

  15. Hi, whenever I try and update my Nokia X7 it always says "connection to the phone was lost" followed by a list of instructions to fix it. Bt no matter how many times I do this, I run into the same problems. What can I do?

    1. Hi noah, I think it might be a problem of your internet connection or PC suite pls check whether both are working properly or not. I suggest you to reinstall your existing Pc suite with updated version.I hope ot will help you to fix this problem. also try OTA update using *#0000#-> 'check for update'. Let me know more about it.

        1. Ohh.. something wrong happen during update.I suggest u to soft reset it using *#7370#,don't forgot to take backup of ur contacts and other phone data.if it won't work FLASH it using phoneix and navfirm.

  17. i updated my c6-01 to belle using nokia suite,,,,aftr updated to belle when i try to connect my usb cable to my phone the usb icon blinks and shows ''connect cable to device'' error....wht to do???? Plz suggest me quickly saurabh

    1. Ohh.. might be a problem of firmware.I suggest u to hard reset ur phone. before that do backup of ur contacts,notes etc. using OVI Sync as ur usb is not detecting this is good way to take backup on fly. After completing this do hard reset using *#7370#,provide ur security code(default:12345).If it pop-up to 'End active calls' then end all data connections from pull down bar. It will restart your mobile and refresh your settings.Now connect your usb to mobile and check whether its working or not. 😀 Let me know if any help is needed.

  18. i tried to upgrade my E6 phone but at installation it gets stuck up, flashes "Phone connection lost" 4-5 times, and then reconnect of its own. I click "next" evrytime. Two warning msgs shown and accordingly i put my phone on offline mode, But nothing happend though it was on from evening till evening.

    1. Hi ranjana,I suggest u to reinstall PC suite then reboot ur pc as well as E6 mobile then try to connect it,if it is still their then try OTA update by pressing *#0000# and check in option. Let me know if it is work or not

    1. Hi you can try to check update by connecting your phone to Nokia Suite via BLUETOOTH medium,then check for update form their. I think you will get it. Let me know if you need any help.

  22. hi please answer. I had my C7 download for the belle, but I always stuck in the 3rd step. It's said "Connection to the phone was lost", but then its reconnect on its own and then said "USB connection is active" I always try to click next, but the same problem show up again.
    I try to dial *#0000# --> check for updates and there's no update available. I tried dial *#7370# or *#7780# but it's still not work. It's still stuck in 3rd step over and over.
    Please help 🙁

    1. Try hard resetting option,before this take backup of your contacts and other data. The procedure for the hard reset is as follows.
      Hold "Volume down + Camera Key + Menu Key + Power button" and press power button until your phone buzzes.

      Then re-install latest version of Nokia suite on your machine and always run it by Rclicking->Run as Administrator.

      Then recheck for update.

  24. hi, i have a nokia e7 and it says that the belle update is available for my phone. so i installed the nokia suite software (latest version) and started the installation process. the belle update downloaded successfully, and my files backed up successfully as well, but in the third step (where the software is installed in the phone) the cable connection keeps fluctuating and, hence, the process doesnt go further. i checked the cable, it works perfectly fine with the mobile otherwise, its only when i am installing the update in my phone, that it starts showing the error. what should i do???

    1. Hi Karan,
      What I suggest you try to update it using OTA dial *#0000# and click 'check-Update' option. I recommended to connect your phone to wifi or 3G network to download updates. Once it will complete you don't need any cable to update process.
      If it still didn't work I suggest you to Flash it using Phoenix Service Software as you already have your backup with Nokia Suite.
      Note: while flashing keep battery of mobile above 80%

HI saurabh . i installed Nokia Suite software on my pc and took a backup from my nokia c7. then i tried to update my c7 from symbian to belle. but at step2 i faced with this message:no connection to internet. my pc was connected to internet. but my phone was not connected to internet. now this is my question: during updating my phone via nokia pc suite; pc should be connected to internet or phone should be connected to internet? please help me. another question: is it possible to upgrade my phone offline? thanks a lot.

    1. Hi Ebrahim,
      Look like their is an issue with your Phones Nokia Suite, please reinstall it,to do this connect ur phone via Nokia Suite then in on of file option you will see Install Phone Software.
      While updating your phone from PC you need good quality internet connectivity on PC,no need of mobile net. If you want to update it from mobile (OTA) connect ur phone to wifi or 3G then use this code *#0000# and from option simply select ->check for update<-if their is an update for your phone you will get it from their. Still it fail then you can backup your data and do flashing from Navfirmware, see this https://goo.gl/X56tS

  29. I got E51 and *#0000# only shows me the version of the mobile, no button or any source to update my cellphone's firmware. I've searched the whole google out to upgrade my firmware but nothing worked.
    When the installation part comes in Nokia suite 3.8.54(latest version). the installation bar goes to 10-20% and the mobile restarts, then the mobile screen goes black (no "nokia" logo even without backlights) where the software waits for the device to complete its restart state which takes too long which causes the 'nokia usb flashing generic - device unplugged" and the update stops with the error "connection lost with phone". I did let the mobile to start again then i clicked 'ok' but, the installation process starts from the beginning and then the whole situation i explained repeats.
    HELP ME? :'(

      Look like their is an issue with phone memory while updating.What I suggest u take backup of your all data then hard reset your phone using *#7370# then try to get OTA update from *#0000# if that issue still persist then use phoneix software https://goo.gl/8KMMZP to flash and update ur mobile.

  30. Need Help with C6-01 Belle Refresh ver 111.040.1511.

    1) Is there a later version than 111.040.1511 - how do I get it?

    2) Where do I get the app for the Torch Light and "App Stop"?
    Because, I installed homescreenwidgets.sisx from "Adding Mirror, Stopwatch, Flashlight, etc. to Belle Refresh" located on allaboutsymbian com
    It installed fine but no apps were on the home screen?

    3) I have turned off 3G since it uses a lot of power. Is there a work around or a replacement battery?

      Ans1: Their is no new version for C6-01, Belle Refresh ver 111.040.1511 is latest one.
      Ans2: You can install following dedicated apps if needed

      as u told u installed already then to enable that u have to add them as widget at home screen
      Ans3: All symbian phones are battery killer, their is no option to save battery while using 3G. I was also fed up with same & switched to Android

    1. Hi Rajeev,
      I'm sorry.
      Its really impossible to Flash your device as your USB is malfunctioned. If you want to update, then It can be done using OTA. But flashing need strong USB support which will not possible in your scenario. What you can do replace your USB port from local repairing center and then try it again.

    1. HI Anuj, you can do hard reset using keys. Please follow this
      Check your phone battery(must 50%+), Turn it on.
      Hold and press "Volume Down + Camera button + Home key + Power button" simultaneously, until you see Nokia logo.
      Now put your lock code. (The default lock code is 12345).
      After this your phone will reset & will boot again
      This will help.Let me know if u need any more info.

    1. Hi, it looks like a sensor issue, I checked with my N8 it's not having any issue as it has latest Symbian Belle OS. Please check with a technician to fix it ! Probably Nokia service center. I doubt whether they have sensor available or not. Hope for best !
